Producer license term is changed to a
biennial period.
48 Credit Hours every two years inclusive of 3 hours of ethics.
Licensees who sell flood insurance must also have a one time, 3
hour flood course to comply with Section 207 of the Federal
Flood
Insurance Reform Act of 2004.
New licensees will receive meet their flood requirement through their
pre-licensing for property authority.
This requirement for individual producers will become effective upon
their renewal or for new licenses, issued on or after 1/1/2007.
Licenses that have not yet expired, will continue to obtain 48 credits
within the scope of the old requirements.
License expiration dates for new and existing individual licenses to be
the last day of the producer’s birth month for individual licenses and
for business entities use of a May 31st expiration date every second
year;
Producers licensed as of 11/4/02 must complete 24 of the 48 credit
hours in authorities for which the producer is licensed, inclusive of 6
credits in approved courses relating to fraud and/or ethics.

of Certification: |
The course
provider must issue the certificate of completion to the producer. The
course provider reports the credits to the CE Administrator, currently,
Pearson VUE. The CE Administrator processes the CE credits and reports
them to the Department of Insurance.
The CE Administrator will send the producer within 90 days of the
license expiration, a copy of the CE courses taken and recorded during
the compliance period. Producers must keep original certificates of
course completion for 6 years.
