Our instructors are experts and highly credentialed, bringing a wealth of expertise and experience to the learning programs. They are active insurance professionals who come with a diverse insurance background and enjoy training.

Kym Martell, CRM, CIC, AAI
President

Kym Martell, created K.M. Associates, Insurance Management & Training Consultants in 1995. With over 20 years experience in the insurance industry, Kym brings expertise from a diverse background, which includes Agency Management, Risk Management, Sales, Claims and Customer Service.

Kym has written and developed continuing education and professional training programs for a variety of clients, including professional organizations, insurance companies, agents and brokers.

Kym has been a training consultant since 1992, and works with many organizations in developing and providing training programs. Some of her clients include professional organizations, insurance companies, agents and brokers.

As a consultant, she also provides sales and agency management training for agency staff. Kym’s inherent ability to communicate with employees at all levels is an attribute that adds to her success.  

Kym holds several professional designations including Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and the Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI).


Cathy Trischan, CPCU, CRM, CIC, AAI, AU
Training Consultant

Cathy Trischan has been the Commercial Lines Manager at a leading independent agency in New Jersey since 1996 and manages the company's largest commercial clients.

Cathy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey and began her insurance career upon graduation. Prior to joining the agency, Cathy worked as a claims adjuster for a major property and casualty carrier as well as in the commercial lines departments of several large insurance agencies.

Cathy has worked as a training consultant since 1995. She has taught both pre-licensing and continuing education courses for various organizations. She has also written several self study courses.

Cathy holds several professional designations including the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter Program (CPCU), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Insurance Counselor Designation (CIC), Accredited Advisor of Insurance Designation (AAI), and Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU). She received an award for Academic Excellence from the Insurance Institute of America and is a participant in the CPCU Society's Continuing Professional Development Program.


Robert W. Teschke
Executive Management Consultant

Bob Teschke is an industry veteran, beginning his insurance career in 1972. Prior to joining K.M. Associates in 2005, he has spent his entire career with The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

In Bob's 33 years with Chubb, he held a variety of positions of increasing responsibilities, including management roles in Underwriting, Marketing, Human Resources, and Branch Management. His most recent role was the President/CEO of PLI Brokerage, Chubb's national independent insurance agency with over 300 employees and 28 offices nationwide.

He also taught numerous insurance, management, and skill development programs throughout his career. In his Managing Director capacity, he also worked closely with Senior Management on a variety of initiatives, from strategic planning, expense control, and M&A initiatives.

Bob is a 1972 graduate of Waynesburg College with a BS degree in Business Administration. He resides in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with his wife Carol, and has two grown children.
